Hello,

It has been brought to our notice that individuals may have been receiving emails from our domain name, requesting personal information for their Coinbase accounts. We would like to categorically state that this is an email spoofing attack, where online fraudsters have used the domain name ‘masaischool.com’ to mislead their mailing list(s).

Spoofing is the act of disguising a communication from an unknown source as being from a known, trusted source. Simply put, online fraudsters/cheats create fake IDs with real domain names, to solicit and misuse personal details. This can be more technical, such as a computer spoofing an IP address, Address Resolution Protocol (ARP), or Domain Name System (DNS) server.

In no uncertain terms, we at Masai School would like to state that we do not require or request any password protected or sensitive personal information w.r.t Coinbase or any other secure platform. No Masai School employee would ever ask you to share any information which is, in any way password-protected or one that requires authentication through OTP or other digital and offline methods.

We collect information as permitted by law. We only ask for personal information when we truly need it, and to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we are collecting it and how it will be used. All data shared with Masai School is protected against theft and remains protected. We do not ever share identifying information publicly or with third parties, except when required by law and your express written consent.

Here is how you can check if the email/communication received by you is authentically from Masai School.

  1. It is in relation to our courses or our workshops, and doesn’t require you to share any personal information where a password is needed to access it.
  2. Check the spellings of the email ID. Our official IDs do not have any typos.
  3. Check the relevance of the email to any action you might have taken on the Masai School website.
  4. Our employees or an official email handle will never ask for your password(s), 2 step verification code or private keys.
  5. We only require your ID card or PAN Card for your admissions process, which is a system generated request, and not solicited through an individual or an employee. For more information on this process you can send in your inquiries to us at grievanceofficer@masaischool.com.

If you have received any such fraudulent communication, email us at: grievanceofficer@masaischool.com.

Regards,

Team Masai
